Bloc condemns the Al-Tabi'in school massacre in Gaza, reaffirms support for a Palestinian state

Algiers, 10 August 2024
Statement of condemnation
Death in Gaza, mourning in Algeria; the wound in Gaza, the pain in Algeria. We go to sleep in safety and wake to mourning: the Zionist entity robs us of land, honour, life, humanity, security, peace, dreams and even sleep.
At dawn today Gaza lost more than 100 martyrs in a cowardly killing, an unjust bombardment, a flagrant violation of international law and a systematic targeting of civilians and shelters for the displaced.
The Hisn Al-Mateen Bloc condemns this cowardly act by the Zionist entity, which caused yet another massacre at the Al-Tabi'in school, killing more than 100 people and wounding dozens. Six schools sheltering displaced people in Gaza City were targeted by the Israeli army within a single week in an attempt to force them out of the Strip. What could possibly justify such a heinous act?
In the face of the international community's indifference, Tel Aviv continues its war on Gaza, ignoring the Security Council resolution calling for an immediate ceasefire and the International Court of Justice's orders to take measures to prevent acts of genocide and improve the humanitarian situation.
We condemn in the strongest terms the Israeli occupation's bombing of civilian shelters, demand an end to the disregard for the lives of defenceless civilians, and insist that all countries join forces to compel Israel to abide by international law and protect the displaced.
The Bloc joins its voice to the Algerian State's steadfast position on the justice of the Palestinian cause and renews its confidence in the State's tireless efforts to secure the freedoms and legitimate rights of the brotherly Palestinian people, with a single goal: an independent Palestinian State with East Jerusalem as its capital.
Victory is near. Eternal glory to the martyrs, and victory to Palestine.
Ouidad Hamza, President of the National Committee in Support of the Palestinian Cause and in charge of legal affairs and public freedoms at the Hisn Al-Mateen Bloc.
