Bloc reaffirms commitment to the nation’s founding values and rejects calls to division

Statement of the Hisn Al-Mateen Bloc Institution

Faithful to the founding values of the Algerian nation, attached to its Islamic faith and rooted in its glorious history of struggle, the Hisn Al-Mateen Bloc Institution, with all its members and activists at home and abroad, affirms the following:

First: it renews its attachment to the nation’s unifying values, shaped through the generations by Algeria’s scholars, moudjahidine and free people, and founded on unity of faith, Arab and Amazigh belonging and the deep national cohesion that brought Algeria glory and independence.

Second: it firmly rejects all calls to strife and division, whatever their source or justification, and condemns any attempt to target the unity of the Algerian people, attack its national symbols or cast doubt on its history and identity.

Third: it calls for awareness and responsibility at this delicate stage and for putting the nation’s higher interest first, by holding to the founding values, strengthening a culture of dialogue and supporting the State’s efforts to preserve stability and safeguard its constitutional institutions.

Fourth: it welcomes the appeals of the country’s wise voices and calls for greater cohesion among all popular and official components, to strengthen the internal front and confront all schemes of division, doubt and destabilisation.

Fifth: it calls on the President of the Republic, Mr Abdelmadjid Tebboune, as the symbol of national unity, to continue his efforts to consolidate social justice, achieve comprehensive development and protect national sovereignty at home and abroad.

We believe that Algeria’s unity is a red line and that our national cohesion is the impregnable fortress against challenges and our path to a bright future.
