Statement on the 63rd anniversary of the recovery of national sovereignty
With hearts full of pride, the Hisn Al-Mateen Bloc commemorates the glorious anniversary of Algeria's independence on 5 July 1962, the historic day that ended more than 132 years of colonial rule and proclaimed the birth of a free and sovereign state, thanks to the sacrifices of the heroes of the Revolution and our righteous martyrs.
This cherished anniversary is a turning point in the history of the Algerian nation and renews our pledge to pursue national construction, consolidate the values of loyalty and popular cohesion, and defend national sovereignty in the face of current challenges and growing regional threats.
On this cherished occasion, the Hisn Al-Mateen Bloc:
- pays solemn tribute to the martyrs of the nation, who wrote the epic of freedom and dignity;
- honours the role of the mujahideen, men and women, who have remained faithful to the values and principles of the Revolution;
- calls on Algeria's youth to carry forward the legacy of that great generation through conscious commitment to serving the nation, strengthening citizenship, innovation and national solidarity.
In this spirit, the Bloc reaffirms its constant commitment to helping build a strong, united and secure Algeria, governed by justice, in which the voice of an aware and responsible civil society is heard.
Glory and eternity to our righteous martyrs.
Long live a free and proud Algeria.
For the Hisn Al-Mateen Bloc
