Djelloul Chetouane in Africa News: the solution in Mali lies in the 2015 Algiers Agreement

The Hisn Al-Mateen Bloc warns: the solution can only be Algerian
As the crisis in northern Mali deepens and clashes escalate, the Hisn Al-Mateen Bloc stresses that the time has come to restore the 2015 Algiers Agreement as the only realistic reference for resolving the conflict and stopping the bloodshed.
- Algeria is not a party to the conflict but a regional conscience seeking to preserve the unity of peoples and collective security.
- Military solutions have proven a failure; there is no alternative to a courageous and fair political process.
Our position is clear and steadfast:
- yes to a Malian–Azawadi national dialogue;
- no to foreign interventions that deepen the wound;
- support for all sincere Algerian initiatives, and backing for them in the media and civil society.
