Statement by the Hisn Al-Mateen Bloc Foundation welcoming the joint political initiative of Algerian parties on the aggression against Gaza

Algiers, Monday 28 July 2025

The Hisn Al-Mateen Bloc Foundation warmly welcomes the sound national initiative launched by the Movement of Society for Peace (MSP), which brought together a group of Algerian political parties and resulted in a joint political statement renewing national unity around the Palestinian cause and condemning in the strongest terms the ongoing Zionist aggression against our people in the Gaza Strip.

Regarding this honourable step as part of Algeria's historic loyalty to liberation causes, we note the following:

• we commend the spirit of national unity embodied by this inclusive initiative, which confirms that Palestine is not a matter of disagreement but a cause of shared Algerian conscience that transcends political and ideological calculations;
• we value the statement's clear and firm language, especially its condemnation of the policy of starvation and genocide as war crimes requiring international accountability, positions that reflect Algeria's steadfast commitment to international legitimacy and human justice;
• we welcome the statement's call for effective popular and organised action through field events, aid convoys and breaking the siege, and stress that this call provides common ground for complementarity between parties and civil society;
• we welcome the openness to organised, coordinated action and express the readiness of the Foundation, with its experience and field presence, to contribute to any national mechanism that strengthens the collective effort for Palestine, on the ground, in the media and on the humanitarian front;
• we commend the leadership of the MSP for this weighty political initiative and call for this inclusive participatory process to be extended to civil-society organisations, trade unions, and youth and cultural actors, so that Algeria stands with its full strength alongside resistance and freedom.

In conclusion, the Hisn Al-Mateen Bloc renews its pledge to remain at the forefront of every sincere national effort that unites Algerians around Palestine and embodies the deep historical bond between the two brotherly peoples.
