Algeria first and foremost

We at the Hisn Al-Mateen Bloc follow with great attention and deep appreciation the efforts of the state and its institutions to protect the national fabric of associations and ensure the integrity of civil and charitable work.

The facts in figures:

  • Algeria has 41,807 associations and non-profit organisations falling under the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) definition.
  • Among them are 335 foundations, 16 of which are registered with the Ministry of the Interior: special bodies established by notarial deed to promote specific activities.

This diverse fabric is a national treasure and a cornerstone of social cohesion.

Areas of risk:

The national risk assessment identified 3,115 associations classified as “high-risk”, including:

  • 1,852 religious associations;
  • 928 charitable associations.

Between 2020 and 2024, the Financial Intelligence Processing Unit (CTRF) recorded 4 suspicious transaction reports, reflecting the vigilance of state institutions and the effectiveness of oversight mechanisms.

Our position:

The Hisn Al-Mateen Bloc declares its full support for the 2025–2026 national action plan, which aims to:

  • strengthen the legal and regulatory framework;
  • safeguard civil society;
  • ensure transparency in charitable and humanitarian work.

We place ourselves on the front line in defending the integrity of associative work, convinced that protecting Algeria is not a choice but a sacred duty.

Together, let us protect our homeland and safeguard the purposes of our civil society.

One Homeland, One Nation, One History, One Destiny
