Hisn Al-Mateen Bloc rejects the Malian transitional government's accusations against Algeria

Aware of the gravity of the geopolitical manoeuvres being plotted against Algeria, and true to its national responsibility, the Hisn Al-Mateen Bloc stands firm in refuting the false and misleading allegations issued on 25 September 2025 by the so-called transitional government of Mali. That statement does not only target Algeria; it threatens to destroy the foundations of trust and good neighbourliness on which the historic relations between the two brotherly peoples are built.
We therefore declare in the strongest terms:
- Categorical rejection of the allegations: the accusations against Algeria and its military leadership are baseless, rest on no clear evidence, and aim to distort the facts and justify policies that overturned national legitimacy in Mali.
- Solidarity with Algeria: we affirm our absolute support for the institutions of the Algerian state and its forces, which have made sacrifices in fighting terrorism and securing regional peace, and we denounce any attack on their historic reputation and acknowledged regional role.
- Condemnation of a political manoeuvre: we see this statement as part of an internal and external political manoeuvre to create external enemies in order to cover domestic failure and justify the departure from constitutional paths.
- Denunciation of double standards: while false accusations are levelled at Algeria, whose historic fight against terrorism and sponsorship of peace agreements are widely recognised, the authorities in Bamako deliberately ignore their own suspect relations and alliances with internationally designated terrorist groups, foremost the “Group for the Support of Islam and Muslims” and Al-Qaeda. This duplicity exposes an intention to muddy the waters and justify abandoning the peace process.
- A call for restraint and diplomacy: we warn the Malian authorities against using accusations and media escalation as a political tool, and urge them to withdraw any fabricated statements immediately and return to dialogue and accepted legal and international channels.
- Evidence or an apology: we demand that the Bamako government provide concrete evidence for its claims or immediately retract its biased statements and issue an official apology to the Algerian state and people.
- An appeal to the international community: we urge international and regional institutions to stand firm against any attempt to exploit judicial files to justify hybrid policies that do not serve regional security, and to uphold the principles of state sovereignty and non-interference.
- Our rights and responsibilities: we reserve all our diplomatic and legal rights to respond and to pursue this matter before the competent international bodies, while reaffirming our commitment to peaceful and diplomatic action to preserve security and stability in the region.
- A fraternal message: finally, we favour relations of brotherhood and cooperation with the brotherly Malian people, but we will not allow Algeria's image to be tarnished or its historic and diplomatic standing to be undermined.
Hisn Al-Mateen Bloc
As reported by the daily Africa News (issue 1292, Monday 29 September 2025): the ruling junta in Bamako will not succeed in its designs, and Algeria will remain an impregnable fortress, steadfast in its principled positions in support of just causes and the peoples of the region.
