Hisn Al-Mateen Bloc sends a solidarity letter to the Sahrawi Ambassador, upholding self-determination

Message of solidarity and support to the brotherly Sahrawi people

Your Excellency,
Our brothers of the proud Sahrawi people,

The Hisn Al-Mateen Bloc is following with great attention the delicate phase the Sahrawi cause is going through, which calls for a united position and clear vision in the face of attempts to circumvent international legitimacy.

In expressing our absolute solidarity with the Sahrawi people in their legitimate struggle for freedom, independence and self-determination, we strongly condemn the practices of the Moroccan occupation and all its attempts to impose a fait accompli at the expense of the historic rights of the Sahrawi people.

We reaffirm our full commitment to international legitimacy and to Security Council Resolution 690, which clearly recognises the exclusive right of the Sahrawi people to self-determination through a free and fair referendum, the only legal solution recognised by the United Nations.

We call on the United Nations and the Security Council to shoulder their legal and moral responsibilities and to return immediately to the implementation of this resolution, without manipulation or delay, so as to end the occupation and complete the decolonisation of Western Sahara.

Renewing our full support for the leadership of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Saguia el-Hamra and Río de Oro (Polisario Front) as the sole legitimate representative of the Sahrawi people, we express our deep appreciation for Algeria's steadfast and principled positions, which have always supported peoples struggling for their freedom.

In conclusion, the Hisn Al-Mateen Bloc affirms that rights do not lapse with time, that free peoples are never defeated, and that the voice of Sahrawi resistance will remain a witness to the justice of its cause until full sovereignty is restored.
