Western Sahara: Hisn Al-Mateen Bloc rejects the Security Council resolution and commends the Berabiche

Hisn Al-Mateen Bloc Foundation is following with deep concern the latest UN Security Council resolution on the question of Western Sahara, which came — regrettably — at the clear prompting of the United States of America, in a new departure from the principles of justice and the right of peoples to self-determination.

In this context, the Foundation highly commends the historic and responsible stance of the Berabiche coordination delegation during its visit to Mr Brahim Ghali, President of the Sahrawi Republic, during which the delegation affirmed, on behalf of the Berabiche tribes, their steadfast and unconditional support for the Sahrawi people in their legitimate struggle for self-determination and the recovery of full sovereignty over their occupied territories.

Expressing its full solidarity with the Sahrawi people, Hisn Al-Mateen Bloc Foundation affirms that imposed decisions cannot cancel a right enshrined in international legitimacy, nor change the fact that Western Sahara is a question of decolonisation, not a territorial dispute as some try to portray it.

We believe that the voice of free peoples will remain stronger than any political pressure, and that the will to resist and stand firm is the only path to justice and lasting peace in the region.
