Hisn Al-Mateen Bloc: the release of Boualem Sansal falls within the President’s constitutional prerogatives

Hisn Al-Mateen Bloc declares that the decision to release Boualem Sansal falls within the constitutional prerogatives vested in the President of the Republic, Mr Abdelmadjid Tebboune, and follows a final court ruling in the case.
The decision reflects the wisdom of the national leadership and its ability to take balanced decisions that safeguard the sovereignty of the Algerian State and the independence of its national decision-making, free from any external pressure or attempt to interfere in its internal affairs.
Hisn Al-Mateen Bloc affirms that Algeria is a State of strong institutions whose national interests always come first, and it highly values relations with friends and partners who respect Algeria’s sovereignty and wisdom.
The Bloc notes that this decision has removed one of the cards that certain parties sought to exploit to tarnish Algeria’s image — the very parties that had previously tried to influence the national judiciary in the Boualem Sansal case.
Hisn Al-Mateen Bloc renews its full support for all the constitutional and political measures taken by the President of the Republic, which help strengthen the national front and consolidate trust between State institutions and society.
