Hisn Al-Mateen Bloc: fifty years of Moroccan occupation, and Sahrawi rights still in limbo

Hisn Al-Mateen Bloc renews its firm and enduring position in support of the defenceless Sahrawi people, recalling suffering that has lasted more than half a century under occupation, amid shocking disregard for the resolutions of the United Nations, the African Union and all international bodies affirming this people’s right to self-determination.
In his latest statement, the Bloc’s president, Mr Djelloul Chetouane, stressed:
- the steadfastness of the Sahrawi people despite repression and systematic violence;
- the failure of colonial powers to break the will of a people holding fast to its legitimate right;
- international double standards towards the Sahrawi cause;
- the need for international organisations to act to end the occupation and restore the Sahrawi people’s full rights;
- condemnation of the humanitarian violations committed by Moroccan occupation forces;
- a call on the international community to intervene urgently to stop violations and protect civilians.
Hisn Al-Mateen Bloc affirms that the Sahrawi question is not merely a political file… but the cause of a people seeking freedom, and a justice still waiting to be done.
