Hisn Al-Mateen Bloc welcomes Saïd Chanegriha’s warnings on hybrid warfare and calls for a national debate

At an international moment marked by deep turbulence and a reshaping of the balance of power, talking about politics is no longer an intellectual luxury but a matter of sovereign and existential awareness. In this context, Hisn Al-Mateen Bloc is following closely the statements of General Saïd Chanegriha, which confirm that Algeria fully understands the nature of this stage and its complex security and geopolitical challenges, defined by the return of the logic of force and the weakening of international law.

The Bloc also notes the striking convergence between this official discourse and the warnings delivered from the pulpit of the Great Mosque of Algiers about the dangers of hybrid wars, which no longer target only borders but seek to penetrate minds and destabilise societies from within — reflecting an advanced national awareness of new threats that combine military tools with media and digital influence.

The Bloc stresses that the current stage requires all actors, particularly political parties and intellectual elites, to rise to these challenges. It is no longer acceptable to confine political action to narrow electoral competition while the world undergoes profound changes that redraw the balance of power according to interests rather than slogans.

In the Bloc’s view, one of the main challenges today is the battle for awareness: information has become a weapon, rumour a tool of influence and public opinion an open field for all forms of targeting. This calls for a new political discourse based on knowledge and strategic analysis, capable of protecting society from attempts at infiltration and fragmentation.

The Bloc calls for a serious and responsible national debate on geopolitical shifts and their impact on national security in all its dimensions, including food security and social stability, with stronger integration between State institutions and civil society within a unified vision.

We recall that the Bloc was among the first to call for the “societal reunification” initiative, aware of the gravity of the moment and the need to unite the internal front, and that it stepped up its field activities in the Great South, the country’s strategic depth and social bulwark, convinced that anticipation and fieldwork are the real way to fortify the home front.

In commending this advanced official awareness, Hisn Al-Mateen Bloc affirms that fortifying the internal front is achieved not only through security measures but also by strengthening social cohesion, consolidating national values and engaging collectively in the battle for awareness.

We are at a pivotal moment that requires everyone to shoulder their historic responsibilities: either we rise to these changes as a force of proposal, awareness and anticipation, or we leave the field to others to impose agendas that do not serve the national interest.

For a strong, cohesive Algeria, protected against every challenge.
