Geopolitical reading: the war widens from Yemen to Lebanon and Iraq after 29 days of escalation against Iran

What is happening in the region is no longer a passing tension but a complex regional scene in which fronts overlap and military and political messages intertwine, especially after 29 days of escalation against Iran.

Ansarullah’s entry into the confrontation, alongside Hezbollah’s moves in southern Lebanon and the growing role of Popular Mobilisation factions in Iraq, confirms that we are facing a genuine strategic shift, not a temporary escalation.

What does this mean militarily?

We are at the most dangerous stage of the conflict:

  • multiple fronts: Lebanon – Yemen – Iraq;
  • the Zionist occupying entity being worn down from several directions;
  • missiles and drones brought deep into the confrontation;
  • the battle moving from land to sea.

Yemen is no longer acting merely as a supporting front but as a strategic pressure card thanks to its position overlooking the Bab el-Mandeb Strait, meaning that any escalation affects not only the parties to the conflict but also global trade and energy security.

What comes after 29 days of war on Iran?

The outlines of a new phase are emerging: no clear military decision, a widening field of confrontation, the entry of non-traditional actors and a shift to a “multi-front war” model. The message is clear: the confrontation no longer concerns Iran alone but has become an interconnected network of regional conflict.

Where are things heading?

The region faces two possibilities:

  • all-out escalation, turning the fronts into an open regional war;
  • a fragile balance of deterrence, imposed by the force of mutual strikes and fear of a major explosion.

Conclusion

A new equation is rapidly taking shape: Iran under mounting pressure, Yemen threatening shipping lanes, Lebanon imposing a deterrence equation on the border, and Iraq acting in depth through its factions. From now on, the war will not be what it was… and we may witness a real redrawing of the balance of power in the region.

A geopolitical reading… as reality moves towards a more complex and entangled phase.
