Hisn Al-Mateen Bloc welcomes Pope Leo’s visit to Algeria as a message of peace and coexistence

Hisn Al-Mateen Bloc notes with interest the visit of His Holiness Pope Leo to Algeria, an event that reflects the civilisational and human dimension that distinguishes our country and confirms its standing as a bridge between peoples and cultures.

Under the leadership of the President of the Republic, Mr Abdelmadjid Tebboune, Algeria continues to entrench its approach based on openness and the promotion of coexistence, as reflected in hosting such visits that carry messages of peace and understanding.

The Bloc sees the visit as an opportunity to strengthen interfaith dialogue and highlight Algeria’s leading role in supporting stability and spreading a culture of mutual respect, away from all forms of division.

We also affirm that civil society is called upon today more than ever to accompany this momentum and help consolidate the values of tolerance and rapprochement, in the higher interest of the nation and its presence in international forums.
