Hisn Al-Mateen Bloc invites its members to apply for the 2026 UNESCO–Sultan Qaboos Environmental Prize

Hisn Al-Mateen Bloc has received an email invitation from the National Civil Society Observatory regarding the opening of applications for the 2026 UNESCO–Sultan Qaboos Prize for Environmental Preservation, under the auspices of UNESCO.

This prestigious prize rewards outstanding initiatives in:

• protecting the environment and natural resources;
• environmental awareness and education;
• community environmental initiatives;
• managing and establishing protected areas.

Prize value: USD 100,000.

We invite anyone with a serious environmental project or initiative to submit an application through the Bloc.

The application file includes:

• a letter of recommendation;
• supporting documents (studies, reports, achievements…).

Deadline: 10 May 2026.

Note: applications are submitted through official bodies only, and the best initiatives will be selected to represent Algeria.

We affirm our support for all talent within the Bloc and especially encourage young people and women to take part. Interested members are asked to coordinate with the Bloc and send a copy of their files to the Bloc’s email address.
