Bloc: Algeria does not wait to be rescued; its strength lies in its people and institutions

Algeria does not wait for anyone to rescue it.

Facing the fires and the heavy losses that have struck our country, Algerians have shown once again that their real strength lies in their people, their unity and the institutions of their State.

We have never been a people waiting for the pity of others, and Algeria will not be so today. We value every sincere gesture of solidarity from any quarter, but we believe that protecting our nation must rely first and foremost on its own sons and daughters, its institutions and the cohesion of its home front.

We pay tribute to the heroes of Civil Protection, the People's National Army, the police, the National Gendarmerie, the pilots, the volunteers and all the citizens who faced the fires with courage and dedication and helped protect lives and property.

The pain is great and the losses grievous, but Algeria does not break in the face of adversity.

In light of suspicions raised about possible deliberate criminal acts behind some of the fires, we expect the competent authorities to uncover the full truth and to hold accountable, in accordance with the law, anyone proven responsible, without rushing to accuse or to pass judgement.

The Hisn Al-Mateen Bloc renews its call to protect the home front, strengthen national unity, support State institutions and stand by the People's National Army, the police, the gendarmerie, Civil Protection and all the competent services.

This period calls for awareness and vigilance, and for refusing to be drawn into rumours and discourses of discord and accusations of treason, because the strongest response to anyone who wants to weaken Algeria is the unity of Algerians, their cohesion and their trust in their country and its institutions.

We seek no hostility with anyone and we do not lump peoples together, but we know well that Algeria's dignity, sovereignty and national unity are lines that cannot be compromised.

Algeria first… its unity is a red line… its security is everyone's responsibility… and its sovereignty is not negotiable.

May God have mercy on the victims of the fires, protect the injured and all those who stood in the field defending lives and property, and keep Algeria and its people from all harm.

One Homeland, One Nation, One History, One Destiny
