Clarification: Hisn Al-Mateen Bloc explains why it backs several candidates depending on wilaya size

The Hisn Al-Mateen Bloc's candidates on list 102 in the wilaya of Ain Defla: field competence and a vision of service to citizens.

Clarification to the public

Some have asked why the Hisn Al-Mateen Bloc supports more than one candidate in certain wilayas. In fact, this approach is linked to the size of electoral constituencies and the number of seats allocated to each wilaya; it is neither random support nor partisan bias.

In this context, the Bloc takes a practical approach based on direct contact and field coordination with national talents, particularly in municipalities where the candidate has no direct representation, in order to:

  • provide media and moral support to some candidates drawn from national talent;
  • offer field support within the limits of its organisational capacity;
  • strengthen the presence of talented people in their local environment, without any political tutelage.

The distribution of support varies with the size of wilayas and their number of seats:

  • large wilayas such as Algiers and Oran: given the large number of seats, the Bloc can support and accompany a greater number of candidates;
  • medium-sized wilayas such as Sétif, Batna, Constantine and Annaba: support is limited to two or three candidates depending on constituency size and the nature of representation;
  • smaller wilayas such as Tiaret, Bouira, Djelfa and others: support goes to one or at most two candidates, in a focused, field-based way.

These figures remain organisational and flexible depending on realities on the ground, because the Hisn Al-Mateen Bloc does not support parties, but national talents and energies able to serve citizens.

As for the Bloc's own members and cadres who are standing, they receive direct support and comprehensive accompaniment within the available legal, organisational and media frameworks, as part of the Bloc's national project.

It is also worth noting that election campaigns in many developed countries rely increasingly on digital tools at every stage, whether for communication, promotion or managing electoral data, while in Algeria campaigning still relies more heavily on field effort and direct contact.

The final decision always rests with citizens at the ballot box, with respect for political pluralism and freedom of choice.
