Wildfires: Bloc calls for full national mobilisation and offers to help organise aid for victims

National statement of solidarity

The Hisn Al-Mateen Bloc has followed closely and responsibly the developments related to the fires that have hit a number of the country's wilayas, causing loss of life and property, in exceptional circumstances that call for the highest degree of solidarity, vigilance and national responsibility.

Deeply saddened by the loss of Algerian lives in this disaster, we extend our sincere condolences to the victims' families, praying that God grants them His vast mercy and grants the injured a swift recovery.

The Bloc believes that dealing with such situations is not limited to firefighting; it requires comprehensive national mobilisation based on prevention, coordination, rapid response, support for affected citizens and stronger community preparedness for natural and exceptional hazards.

In this context, the Bloc commends the efforts and sacrifices on the ground of Civil Protection, the competent authorities, members of the People's National Army, the National Gendarmerie, forest rangers and all the services involved, and stresses that protecting citizens and their property remains a shared national responsibility.

The Bloc also salutes the people in the affected areas for the courage, solidarity and mutual support they have shown, attitudes that confirm the strength of Algeria's social fabric and its ability to stand united in times of crisis.

At the same time, the Bloc calls for dealing with the situation rationally and responsibly, refraining from spreading unverified news, images or information that could cause panic or disrupt rescue operations, and relying on information from official and competent sources.

The Hisn Al-Mateen Bloc confirms its readiness, within its means, to help mobilise civil society and organise solidarity initiatives for those affected, in coordination with the competent authorities, so that aid reaches those who need it in an organised and effective way.

The Bloc stresses that protecting the home front begins with citizens' awareness, social cohesion and the complementary roles of State institutions and civil society, away from chaos, rumours and the irresponsible exploitation of crises.

In times of hardship Algeria needs all its sons and daughters, a discourse that unites rather than divides, and initiatives that serve citizens and the nation.

May God have mercy on the victims of the fires, heal the injured, and protect Algeria, its people and all those on the front line protecting lives and property.
