Foresight and Studies Committee
Tracking change and anticipating the future to ground the Bloc’s positions and proposals in analysis.

Mandate and missions
The Foresight and Studies Committee is one of the standing committees that assist the General Assembly in examining matters related to the Bloc’s objectives (art. 24). It gives effect to the aim of “creating a think-and-propose unit representing active organisations” (art. 5), tracking economic, social, cultural and regional change and preparing analyses and proposals on public policy and growth models.
It may bring in expertise from member associations and organisations or from outside the Bloc (art. 25). It submits a monthly activity report to the National Executive Bureau, which alone decides on its recommendations: no analysis becomes an official position of the Bloc without that approval.
- Monitor national, regional and international developments relevant to the Bloc’s objectives and causes.
- Prepare analytical papers and situation assessments for the Bloc’s governing bodies.
- Draft economic, social and cultural public-policy proposals.
- Organise seminars and round tables with experts and academics.
- Brief the governing bodies on regional security and Sahel issues.
- Work with the Students and Scientific Research Committee on field studies and data collection.
